A fiddle in the forest
A Fiddle in the Forest is a lovely Celtic Bluegrass Folk Band from the Pacific Northwest. Champion Scottish Fiddlers, Tessa and Mae and Irish Dance Championship dancers, Colton, Greysen and Willow bring a combination of step dancing, Irish and Scottish fiddle tunes, beautiful classic folk tunes and fun, upbeat bluegrass music to your ears.
McKenzie Briar

“McKenzie Briar” brings the beauty and bravery of historic Scotland as well as of other ancient Celtic regions throughout Central Europe by way of their magical music, offering the listener a delightful time-travel journey to a mystical world of long ago.
This eclectic duo composed of Kathi McKenzie and Donni Briar, weave enrapturing songs of the sea, Celtic-inspired originals and beautiful, wistful ballads from a time mostly forgotten ~ into their enchanting performances.
Expertly interlacing guitars, concertina, ukulele and pennywhistle along with a unique variety of percussion instruments set the stage for their lovely voices to carry you to these ancient lands and waterways of enchantment. Kathi’s and Donni’s melodies and harmonies blend sublimely, lifting your spirit to a brighter realm of beauty upon which this world can only glimpse.
The full repertoire of “McKenzie Briar” music encompasses medieval to contemporary, with performing and recording experiences collectively spanning several decades and continents, and ranging from collaborations with sea shanty groups, rock bands, indie-acoustic ensembles and Belgian film-composers, to being featured at music festivals, Highland-Games, medieval faires, art galleries, pubs, and private parties. Come, take a seat at a “McKenzie Briar” concert, and be prepared to be transported to a sweeter, dreamier side of life. Cceòl airson an anam!

Celtic spoons
The Band Celtic Spoons was formed in 2014 by Paula O’Donnell Beisley from Donegal, Ireland and Gary Wayne from Chicago, Illinois. Since then, we have been advancing and forming our very own sound, while having band members come and go.
In 2021, we added new band member Tom Timmons from Long Beach, California. Tom has been playing Irish music for many years and played with the band The Whistlin’ Oysters for 14 years, as did Paula and Gary for a few years!
While out with the band one evening, we had the pleasure of hearing Tom’s wife Beverly sing, and we weren’t long scooping her up to join The Celtic Spoons. Tom and Beverly have been a wonderful addition to the band and we anticipate many fun times ahead with this new and updated sound.
If it’s not fun, why do it! We truly love what we do and it shows in every one of ourenergetic, heartfelt performances!
Surely Goats

Created by friends who wanted to enjoy each other’s company while getting free drinks The Surly Goats have created a lasting impact on Irish music in their own particular way. After years working as a spy network in the Congo our heroes have settled down in the South Sound area to raise kids and spread the joy of traditional Irish instrumentals and songs to an unsuspecting audience. And possibly sell a few T-Shirts on the way to pay for snacks

Curlews Call
Curlew’s Call is a Celtic and Maritime band based in Olympia, Washington. The band plays rollicking songs and tunes at Irish pubs, festivals, and private events around the Northwest. The band is comprised of three talented musicians; Mark Iler on guitar, harmonica and vocals, Jess McKeegan on mandolin, Irish whistle and vocals and Annie Henry on fiddle and vocals. In addition to Curlew’s Call, they also perform solo as well as collaborate with other artists. Collectively and individually the three perform a broad range of musical genres including Celtic sea shanties, ballads, and bawdy songs, old pop and rock songs, folk classics, trop-rock and originals. You can learn more about each artist on their website: www.curlewscall.com
Cavort Celtic

Since 2015, Cavort has taken audiences on an energetic Celtic journey of hearty pub songs and vigorous instrumentals, bringing Ireland and Scotland closer to the Pacific Northwest. Their infectious rhythms and rhymes have a multigenerational appeal with a continuation of centuries-old traditions rejuvenated by Ryan Farris on fiddle, Alec Keith on whistle and flute, Joe Tiernan on guitar and citern, and Tami Curtis on bodhran.

The Flying Ghillies
The Flying Ghillies formed in 2024 as a new demonstration team of Scottish Country Dancing, Ladies’ Step, and occasionally Highland dances. Our group is a unique blend of all ages (youngest is currently 7) and experience levels, and we perform a varied mix of original, recent, and traditional choreographies.
The Flying Ghillies team will demonstrate a few wee rounds of Scottish Country Dancing. Its the social dancing of Scotland. It combines the grace of ballet footwork with the figures of modern progressive social dance. The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, founded in Glasgow in 1923, is an international organization dedicated to the preservation and practice of the country dances of Scotland.
If you are interested in observing or engaging a class, there are several throughout the Puget Sound region, and many far flung places, like Japan!
Rabbits Rebellion

Rabbits’ Rebellion was born from the desire to bring the Seattle’s Irish session scene to those who may not be familiar with how lively and welcoming it can be, resonant with people from all walks of life and from a variety of backgrounds. With a deep respect for the Irish tradition, a woven tapestry of other Celtic influences, as well as the energy and inventiveness of contemporary performance, Rabbits will have you stomping along and lift your spirits with rousing songs and tune sets!
The name Rabbits Rebellion is an homage to the Easter Rebellion, an armed insurrection of the Irish republicans against British colonial rule during Easter Week in 1916. The Rising marks the start of the period of Irish War of Independence and has been immortalized in the song Foggy Dew. In this, we join the Irish people in music and in spirit!

The Plastic paddies
The Plastic Paddies are a trio of Irish bards, playing wholesome, traditional Celtic tunes about murder, drinkin’, and high-seas debauchery. Their mix of folk music, sea shanties, and irreverent original songs are mixed with an oversized dose of witty banter and raucous audience participation. The result is a musical comedy show that’s part sing-along, part vaudeville comedy with a Gaelic twist.
Individual Bios: Though they won’t admit to it in polite company, The Plastic Paddies consist of:
Jonny O’Hartley Jonny is the Plastic Paddies’ bodhran player, lead vocalist, occasional tenor ukulele player, and professional silly little guy. He’s been hittin’ things to a rhythm for nigh on 30 years now, and he has a soft place in his heart for his dear old ma and yellin’ at strangers. When he’s not craicin’ a joke or beatin’ out a jaunty tune, he can usually be found in the company of his lovely wife, a gaggle of energetic dogs, and one very manic squirrel.
Seamus McGill-O’Leary (“…it’s a hyphenate”) Seamus plays the lead mandolin, provides backup vocals, and growls like an angry pirate. He’s been pluckin’ at things with strings since he was knee high to a leprechaun, and has been cleverly disguised as a responsible adult for longer than he’d care to admit. When he isn’t on stage he’s either brewing or drinking strong ale and porter, engaging in a fine bit o’ whiskey snobbery, or taking a game of Dungeons & Dragons way too seriously.
Clare O’Reilly Clare plays guitar and banjo, and provides backup vocals. She’s been singing since before she could talk, and can’t remember a time when she wasn’t trying to be the center of attention. Her accompanying the Plastic Patties is a stepping stone while she waits for the Proclaimers to call her back. When she isn’t performing, she can be searched for sailing the balmy islands of Southeast Alaska, infiltrating Ren Faires, or phlebotomizing small animals. No guarantee she can be found.
