Update from the SSHGA Board

As we gear up for the 2018 Games it’s astonishing to realize that this year marks our 32nd year at the Expo Center in Enumclaw. 1987 was our inaugural year at this location and our first stab at a two-day event. Boy, if only we’d known what we were getting ourselves into!

The Games committee is again receiving many requests for competitor, participant and spectator information from around the U.S. and Canada. The Board would really like to acknowledge and thank the officers, trustees, committee chairs and volunteers who have stepped up to the plate and offered their assistance this year. However, we could NEVER have TOO much of a good thing. So please, if you can… volunteer! We welcome you to join the Clan SSHGA volunteers at work parties and meetings over the next few months. Also plan and schedule time off now to spend anywhere from 1 to 6 fun-filled days in Enumclaw with us on July 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 and be an integral part of making the Games a success!

A special Board meeting was called on March 7. We are still working to resolve our president and vice-president vacancies but we have a plan in place and are moving forward. We are lucky that we have a cohesive, positive, active Board in place with all being committed to facilitating the Games and make them a smashing success! And don’t forget – we are Scots! We always succeed and sometimes we do our best work under the most challenging circumstances!

Sincerely, The SSHGA Board
